12/3, Monday: Today I was introduced to the assignment, Bacteria & Viruses, and began organizing the wiki. My partner is Christine (yay <3), and I learned how to work on our wiki for a sucessful project. I didn't look up our bacteria too terribly much, but I've gotten a decent start - I suppose - on structuring the project.
12/4, Tuesday: In class, today, Christine and I really began organizing our wiki. We set up a layout, and how we were going to organize the pages, and made a large start on our timeline. I finished that when I got home, filling in subject goals/activities for each day, and hopefully Christine will approve it for both of our uses. <3 I like being organized too much for my own good.
Much later when I got home, after a basketball game, I dressed up the sidebar a bit, and really structured our pages. So far, so good. I've also research the bacteria's classification, and added that mostly to the Classification page.
12/5, Wednesday: Today I wasn't able to do much project-wise. After I came home from practice, I edited a bit of things around the site, and only hunted slightly for research. Really, though, I spent most of my time prepping the lab. (Though I'm wondering if I did it right...) Tomorrow I'll be doing more work.
12/6, Thursday: Today I did some note-taking and research on the b. thuringiensis structure, but I ultimately didn't find too much. I'm going to ask Ms. Rasmussen later. I haven't yet written anything official for the structure section. :3
12/7, Friday: I didn't get a chance to really talk to Ms. Rasmussen, so I'm going to ask her about b. thuringiensis research Monday. For now, however, I'm going to research and write the other material scheduled for today, and fix up some areas of the wiki a tad.
12/8, Saturday & 12/9, Sunday: I didn't really get to work on my project over the weekend, in general. I had loads going on, but I'll have to make it up during some of our editing days. :3
12/10, Monday: I started researching about the history of Bacillus Thuringiensis, but after a while, I found I wasn't finding too terribly much. I easily found the basic background information on it (who it was discovered by, experiments in the past), but I haven't really come across literally any research concerning the deep history of the bacteria. I really wish there was any clearly stated - but oh well. I'll have to make do.
I also edited bits and pieces of the wiki, to organize it a little.
12/11, Tuesday: Apparently, this week has been turning out really hectic for me: basketball every day of the week, and also my family's yearly Christmas party is coming up on Saturday. Anyway, I'll fit in the project around this time, hopefully.
Today I started researching about the bacteria's life - mainly, its nutrition and environment. It took a lot of scrummaging around, but I eventually found a good deal about B.t.'s habitat, and its food - it's food, not so much, but its lifestyle and surroundings. Likely tomorrow I'll write it all down in the appropriate section.
12/12, Wednesday: I've noticed, as I've tried to research the more in-depth things about bacillus thuringiensis, that's finding information is very difficult. A lot of web results that appear have to do, mainly, with bacillus thuriengsis as a pesticide, and not as a bacterium. There's very little easily recorded about the bacteria's lifestyle itself - which is really quite frustrating for me in a lot of ways. I swear, I must've used every database and every search option I can come up with, but it's proving inbearable trying to find information on b.t..
I tried to find more on the bacterium's history, but there's practically nothing on that, either. I just inserted as much as I could that related to the subject. I also looked up a lot of various b. thuringiensis websites that could be used as future research references, but I've found only a select handful.
12/13, Thursday: I went to the doctor today because I was feeling really quite ill, but I tried to organize the wiki a bit and do a small amount of research.
12/14, Friday: I'm really feeling ill today, so trying to find anything for my project has become troublesome with my sickness. Specifically, I've missed school - but, even with this free time, I feel like I have none at all. My family's huge party is tomorrow, and if I'm feeling better, I might have to play in a basketball game three hours before the party begins, so I've had to clean and organize and help everything like crazy, even with my sickness. Then, it dawned on me that the project is due Sunday evening, so after cleaning a bit of my room, I kicked my butt into gear.
I have to find information on the b.t.'s reproduction, try and find something more specific on its history, and fix up a lot of different portions of the site. So, I'm doing that right now.
EDIT: I discovered a very helpful university site dedicated to the history and benefits of b.t., and so I ended up taking a lot of notes from the site. Now, I have a very manageable history section, and a much better benefits section. Now, I have to somehow find stuff on bacillus thuringiensis's reproduction. :/
I also managed to find a very interesting YouTube video/documentary on b.t. in corn. It actually helped a bit of my research, I think.
12/15, Saturday: So today was the day of my party, but thankfully, in between massive cleaning and being sick, I've got pretty much every detail of my project done. I've found absolutely nothing on bacillus thuringiensis reproduction so far, but I'll try looking tomorrow. Anyway, our project should be alright. It isn't fantastic, I admit, but considering the time constraints, it's had a decent result.
So tomorrow it's due! Aiiya! Dx
12/16, Sunday: I looked this morning quickly for information on bacillus thuringiensis reproduction. Still no luck anywhere in that department. But, well, it's tough, because I'm officially out of time. I have an hour left to send it in, but I keep thinking I better do that now before I forget.
So, I have to do a couple of quick edits/finalizations, and then I need to be done and send Ms. Rasmussen the url/password again. Just like that.
Anyway, despite lack of reproduction information, I hope the project is alright.
