CLASSIFICATION
The bacterium Bacillus Thuringiensis - or B. Thuringiensis for short - is gram-positive and soil-dwelling, though also founds in the insides of certain insects: including types of caterpillars, moths, and butterflies. It also can be found naturally within plants. It is distinctly recognized by its bipyramidal shape and its use of cry toxins, explained more in-depth later.
It is gram-positive, and thus stains purple under the microscope.
