BENEFITS

Bacillus thuringiensis was eventually discovered to have properties effective against certain populations of insects. At first, these only consisted of worm larvae, until strains were discovered and developed by humans to effect various other insects, including moths, flies, and beetles.

Thus, b.t. has gradually become a top pesticide, especially popular for farmers, for good reason. Most pesticides have been shone to effect specific insects only, but now that further strains of b.t. has been developed, it can be successfully used to kill all sorts of insect populations that can harm crops. Also, with using normal pesticide, gases and partially harmful chemicals may be exerted, while b.t. is purely organic. These have become popular features among people with families.

Also, methods of engineering b.t. into plant life has become an easy reality. Farmers can now grow plants exerting b.t. that kill insects 24-hours a day, upon reapplication.

These methods may all result in better, healthier crops, saving time, and a rise in economy in the crop region.
